GIFTED AND TALENTED SECONDARY SELECTIVE ENTRANCE PROGRAMS (GATE)

Piara Waters Primary School students have the opportunity to be tested for the Department of Education’s merit based Gifted and Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Programs.

These unique academic, arts and languages programs provide a challenging curriculum designed to bring out the very best in eligible students.

Available at 24 select public secondary schools across Western Australia, including Perth Modern School, a fully selective academic school and a selective arts college, your child will learn alongside like-minded peers and will be taught by teachers with expert skills and knowledge.

Applications close for the 2027 program on Friday, 6 February 2026.

This is for students who will be in Year 7 in 2027, meaning 2026 Year 6 students who are interested need to apply by this date.
